Service Message - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SQUASH INSURANCE

Hi [[firstname]]

This year the club has paid for squash player insurance for all Adult and Junior members.

The information within this document is intended to provide an overview of what’s offered, however you are encouraged to review the full information which is updated on the England Squash website.

Please note that you must take action as a result of this email if you want your cover to be activated, instructions are included at the end of this document.

The following membership categories have not been included in the insurance but the cover can be purchased by making an additional payment of £12 per annum.

  • Honorary members
  • Trail members
  • Adult student members

Public Liability and Accident Insurance for Individual Members

England Squash members automatically receive the benefit of the association’s Public Liability and Group Personal Accident insurance if you have paid your membership fee (either directly or via an Affiliated Club) and have activated your membership at www.englandsquash.com

Please note if you do not have an activated membership on England Squash and/or your club has not paid its affiliation fee at the time of any incident, you will not receive the insurance coverage detailed below.

To understand what these covers are and to see the main terms and conditions that apply please make sure you refer to the policy wordings. You can find the relevant documentation on the England Squash website.

In simple terms, the Liability insurance policies will cover:

Public Liability - cover for members if they are found to be legally responsible for causing bodily injury to third party (such as a member of the public or another member) or for damage to a third party’s property.

Alongside the liability insurance we have arranged cover for members if they are accidentally injured when participating in a sanctioned activity or event, or whilst taking part in a club organised training activity.

For copies of any of these documents or if you have any queries about the cover please contact the England Squash brokers, Bluefin Sport 0345 872 5060.

When does the cover operate?

Both the Liability and Personal Accident insurance apply when a member is playing or officiating in club, county or national activities. Including, taking part in training organised by England Squash or county associations. Cover also includes travelling to and from away fixtures as part of an organised party using private cars, motor coaches or public transport but excluding aircraft or motor cycles Note: This insurance does not cover any injury where it is not possible to determine how the injury occurred, e.g. torn ligaments, strains and sprains as the player may have contributed to the injury by not warming up properly or playing whilst they had a pre-existing injury. Our annual policies run from September to August.

The policies’ limits are as follows:

Liability

Public Liability – cover for your legal liability of up to £10M Personal

Accident (see table at end of this email)

These limits apply to an accidental injury caused whilst the policy operates (see above):

To activate your insurance – here’s what you need to do

OPTION 1 - FOR EXISTING ENGLAND SQUASH MEMBERS

If you are already an England Squash member (and this is about 70 of our members) then please follow this process.

Activating your account on englandsquash.com is very simple and straightforward, and takes only a minute or two:

  • If you have logged in to your account on englandsquash.com before, you don't need to do anything - you have already activated your account! If you have forgotten your password, you can easily reset this at www.englandsquash.com/forgotpassword
  • If you have an England Squash membership number (even if it's an old one!), or have any coaching or think you have refereeing qualifications but have never logged in:

  • Attempt to recover your account using your email address at www.englandsquash.com/forgotpassword
  • If this doesn't work, it may be that we don't have an email address for you. However, you can attempt to recover and activate your account using other data we may have at www.englandsquash.com/recover
  • If you still can't recover your account, speak to Fraser Anderson at the club who may be able to find your account on their list of members. He should then be able to either add an email address from which you can recover your account, or will be able to invite you to join the club on englandsquash.com

OPTION 2 – THOSE WHO ARE NOT ENGLAND SQUASH MEMBERS

If you've never had an England Squash membership number, you can set up a new account at www.englandsquash.com/signup. As soon as you log in, you're activated!

Once you have logged into your account it is important that you connect your individual membership to the Dunnington Club. From the England Squash Dash-board you will see a section named ‘my clubs and facilities’ select the button named ‘manage my clubs and facilities’ then navigate to the section ‘My Clubs’ and type Dunnington into the box named ‘please select’. Choose ‘Dunnington Squash Club’ then click the add button. The final task is to give the Dunnington club the permission (or not) to access and update your data. Once this final selection is complete your account is activated and your club affiliation is set to Dunnington.

If you are unsure if you have an existing England Squash membership, please email either John Jaram or Fraser Anderson and we will investigate on your behalf.

Please remember that this insurance is only valid once you have an activated England Squash membership and have nominated Dunnington as your primary club.
