Congratulations to our Yorkshire Premier League team, Ladies first and third teams on winning their respective leagues. Dunnington Yorkshire premier team finished top of the Yorkshire premier league, showing that last week’s defeat by Queens was a minor stumble..The Premier team who suffered a surprise 17-7 home loss to Queens last Wednesday when they needed only 14 points to lift the trophy for the second time, put that setback behind them in devastating fashion at Heaton. World no.23 Chris Simpson, world no.37 Shaun Le Roux, Gareth Lumsden, Matt Marshall and Matt Stephenson all registered straight-games victories to earn Dunnington their 14th win of the season from 18 matches. Queens and Hallamshire had the same win-loss ratio, but the premier team clinched the title by virtue of scoring more points. Matt Stephenson has organised the team all season and has to be congratulated on fielding such a strong and united team. Also special thanks to those members who have supported the team this season. The ladies first team have won York and District Ladies Squash league, losing only one game all season. The core of the team comprised Kate Fisher, Kim Chadwick, Poppie Jaram, Jess Ireland and Nicola Loten. Ladies third team have also won their league and once again only losing one match. None of our six men’s and four ladies teams have been relegated. Heslington 1 who use our courts have won the Men’s Division 4. PS Don't forget to enter the club championships.
