Increased court charges - effective 1st March 2025

Hi [[firstname]]

Following the January committee meeting, a decision has been made to increase adult member court fees from £3 to £4 per 40 minute court. The charge for pay and play members will also increase from £5 to £6 per court. Junior members will continue to enjoy free courts during off-peak periods. The increases will come into effect on 1st March 2025.

The increase in court fees is needed to ensure the financial stability of the club and to allow us to continue to invest in a programme of ongoing improvements. For 2025 there will be a number of investments including improvements to both changing rooms, which we know many members are keen to see.

The Squash Club also has increased rent charges in 2025 from our landlord the PFA (playing fields association). These increases have been held back for several years now and reflect higher operating costs for the building such as utilities. The squash club is a major consumer of both electricity and gas which we use for lighting, heating and hot water; it’s therefore important that we make an appropriate contribution to the overall PFA costs.

Our annual membership fees will remain unchanged at the current rates for 2025. Most of the membership fees have been frozen since 2022.

The following table summarises the 2025 annual membership fees. If you would like to change category or discuss your membership options please reply to this email.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. Further information on the club’s finances and our investment plans will be shared following the AGM in May 2025.
