FUNDED Level 1 coach training at Dunnington 10th Feb 2018

England Squash Participation Award (Level 1)

England Squash have agreed to run a one day Level 1 course at the Dunnington club, this will be for our members and other attendees from the York and District area. The club is keen to further enhance our coaching capabilities and as a result have agreed to fund a limited number of attendees. The training will be a full day both on court and in the classrom on 10th February 2018. This one-day coaching award provides your first steps into coaching and is a pre-requisite for those wishing to take the England Squash Club Coaching Award (Level 2).

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

You’ll learn a number of skills and techniques from how to organise and build rapport with players to basic techniques, tactics and ideas to deliver fun and engaging sessions to a variety of players. You’ll discover how to support, enhance and develop players, and attract new ones. The course is made up of the following topics:

  • Junior squash and how to deliver squash within a primary and secondary school environment.
  • Coaching different participants within a club or leisure centre setting.
  • An introduction to squash 57 and how to organise informal play sessions.
  • Creating and nurturing effective squash and squash 57 communities.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be at least 16 years of age.
  • You will need to have a reasonable knowledge and understanding of the game.

COSTS AND FUNDING

  • The course normally costs £150 and includes one year's England Squash coaching membership (which includes Public Liability Insurance). For a limited number of Dunnington members the club will fund the £150. If you leave the club within 12 months of taking the course then this would need to be repaid.
  • It is important that you register online with England Squash for this course as the registration process has terms and conditions and other personal items such as emergency contact details.
  • You will need to have an up-to-date Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure (approx. £18)
  • You must also attend a safeguarding course - either face to face or online (approx. £20)

Not receiving Email Newsletters?

  • Login and check you email address is correct.
  • Contact Us if you changed your email address.
  • Check you spam/junk folders (and mark the message as "not spam/junk" if you find it there).
  • Add "dunnington@no-reply.mycourts.co.uk" to your Contacts list or email address book.
