All, Thank you to all the players and supporters that took part last night - I think that we all agree that it was a great evening. Delighted to confirm that the 50;50 draw made £70 and many thanks the Shaun Batchelor for denoting £50 from his winnings back to the charity pot. This gave us a total of £120 to donate to Motor Neurone Research. Special thanks also to Steve Korobejko who has raise £200 from sponsorship on the Great North Run. This money is also going to Motor Neurone Research. We were delighted to have David's wife Sam, their 2 girls and his Mum and Dad in attendance. They really enjoyed the evening and appreciated the effort made by all those that attended. Now to the competitions. Both competitions were run as a straight knock out with all 19 players entered in both competitions. Great handicapping ensured that we had lots of very tight finishes with several matched going to a tie break. The Club Handicap - Played by Carl Thomas and James Bailey. This was a very tight match with James just easing ahead at the end to take a narrow victory. Well done James. The David Bolsher Trophy - Played by James Calvert and Shaun Batchelor. With a large handicap this was always going to be an epic battle, particularly as both players that had already played 4 or 5 matched across both competitions. Some fantastic and entertaining squash was played and at the end of 10 minutes it was all square. Shaun served and exhaustion prevented James from making a decent return. Congratulations to Shaun as a very worthy winner. Thanks to all that took part and helped to keep Dave's memory alive. Chris Martin for your Squash Committee.
