Club Statement - Improvements and Upgrades to the club

Dear [[firstname]],

During the period of restricted movement and closure of the club the committee took the opportunity to begin making some improvements and alterations. We are writing to let you know what has already been completed together with the plans for further improvements and upgrades.

Completed works
• Undertaken a COVID Risk assessment together with the PFA and followed England Squash guidance on reopening.
• All the courts have been sanded and the walls cleaned, please be aware of any excessive dust which through the regular cleaning programme will eventually disappear.
• The club have invested in CCTV for the courts and viewing areas, this is for the safety and wellbeing of all members and provides an added layer of security from unwanted guests or acts of vandalism. The committee has drafted a Data policy which includes the use, storage and handling of data. It will be uploaded to the website in due course, but in the meantime a draft copy of the policy is available on request.
• Court bookings can now be made in the normal way via ‘mycourts’, and these have been spaced apart following the England Squash guidance. All players must be members and all names must be entered onto the booking sheet for track and trace purposes. No guests or non-members are allowed to use the courts, there are no exceptions to this rule.

Planned future works:
• Replacement flooring behind court 1 and corridors to match flooring behind courts 2 & 3
• Decorating of wood panelling and walls behind court 1 and viewing balcony on courts 2 & 3
• Refurbishment of seating area and drinks fountain behind court 1.
• Sensor light switches outside changing rooms
• New refreshed signage to ground floor entrance area.

In relation to the CCTV and the Data policy the key points are as follows:
-> The CCTV has been installed for the safety and security of the club (which is unmanned) and to help us comply with the COVID19 related guidance.
-> The recordings are stored on a hard drive at the club and are deleted after 28 days.
-> Only the committee member responsible for maintenance (Matt Stephenson), the Welfare Officer (Hugh Mannerings) and Nick Roberts (Sports Centre Manager) have access to it.
-> All members have certain rights in relation to their data under GDPR.

If you have any further questions or queries, please email the committee.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the club when you are ready and have read the guidelines for playing and accepted the terms and conditions, the link to the register is: https://forms.gle/cwuai4d9Dc6tQsrs7

As a club we must provide track and trace of anyone who has used the facilities should the need arise. If we are unable to do this we may be forced to close until there are no COVID19 restrictions by Government.

Best Wishes,

The Squash Committee
